Journey.Storage LLC, doing business as JOURNEY.STORAGE™ (“Journey,” “we,” “us”) runs self-storage facilities in Granbury, Texas, at 212 Temple Hall Hwy, 409 Western Hills Trail and 3501 McCreary Rd, and the website at journey.storage. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through the website, our online rental and payment pages, our phone line and our facilities.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and newsletter forms: your name, email, phone number, ZIP code and anything you write in the message.
- Renting a space online: your name, email, phone number, mailing address, date of birth, driver’s license or state ID number and issuing state, military status, business name if you rent for a business, the space and move-in date you choose, your protection plan choice and your electronic signature on the rental agreement.
- Paying a bill or rent: your card details, entered into our payment processor’s fields. We do not keep full card numbers on our own servers.
- Move-out requests: your location, unit number, planned move-out date and any notes.
- Calls, texts and emails you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser details, IP address, pages viewed, the site that sent you to us, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies set through Google Tag Manager, including Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement (see Cookies and analytics).
Location
If you tap Near me, your browser asks for permission to share your location. That location is used on your device to sort our facilities by distance; we do not store it. If you type a ZIP code or city instead, it is sent to the OpenStreetMap geocoding service to find the matching area.
How we use it
- To rent you a space, manage your account and keep your rental agreement on file.
- To process payments and, if you turn it on, autopay.
- To give you gate and unit access through smart entry.
- To contact you about your account, payments, access and your move-in or move-out, including by text message.
- To answer your questions and requests.
- To send news and offers if you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand how the website is used, improve it and measure our advertising.
- To keep our facilities, accounts and website secure and to prevent fraud.
- To meet our legal obligations, including the laws that govern self-storage in Texas, and to enforce our agreements.
Text messages
When you rent, we and our smart entry provider send texts about your account, such as your app setup link and temporary PIN, access and payment notices. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of non-essential texts; some account messages may still reach you by email or phone.
How long we keep it
We keep rental, payment and access records for as long as you rent with us and afterward for as long as we need them for legal, tax, accounting and dispute purposes. We keep form inquiries and newsletter sign-ups until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer useful.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections on our website. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your app password and PIN private and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct or delete: ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Marketing: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or reply STOP to marketing texts.
- Targeted advertising: ask us to stop using your information for targeted advertising, and use the cookie controls above.
Depending on where you live, including Texas, you may have these rights under state privacy law. Email hello@journey.storage or call (817) 579-0607. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, answer within the time the law allows, and you may appeal our answer by replying to it. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. Some records, such as rental agreements and payment history, may need to be kept to meet legal obligations.
Children
Our website and services are not directed to children. You must be at least 18 to rent a space. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will let customers know by email or on the website.
